The
heart-rending and bittersweet tale of Philomena Lynott,
a white Irish Catholic woman coming of age in bleak
mid-20th century England. Enduring unfathomable racism,
sexism and abuse she fights all odds to raise her beautiful
racially mixed son Philip. Little do they dream that
he will become Ireland's #1 son--the biggest rock star
ever to emerge from the Emerald Isle. They also know
not of the eventual demise and self-destruction of
the man who comes to be known as "The Rocker".
